From time to time parishes on its border with the Diocese of Christchurch have moved from one diocese to another.

Ahaura-Brunnerton
- The Grey Valley north of Greymouth, with churches at Ahaura St Andrew’s Church 1876-

Became part of the Diocese of Christchurch 1990
Country parochial district on southern boundary of the Diocese, with the earliest services probably taken by Archdeacon R.B. Paul. It si known that Nelson Bishops visited from time to time and presumably conducted services. There were Vicars appointed from 1863

Awatere
An elongated parish area stretching from south of Blenheim down the east coast towards Kaikoura as far as Kekerangu.
- Awatere. There was no church until 1893, but services were held in the local Presbyterian Church.
