St Stephen’s was an Anglican Māori boarding school for boys. It was initially located in Parnell and then moved to Bombay, Auckland. The school was one of the oldest and longest-running schools in New Zealand when it closed in 2000.

The register records the names of boys who applied to attend St Stephens School, but not all boys who applied were admitted to the school. The register records the application date, name of the boy, age, home address or location, degree of previous education, starting date at St Stephen's and the date they left the school. From about 1914 only the date of application and the names of the boys applying were recorded. In many cases, it is not clear
whether the boys were admitted to the school.
